Kennesaw, GA – ESI Inc. of Tennessee has been selected

Kennesaw, GA – ESI Inc. of Tennessee has been selected out of 1500 entries as a semifinalist in the 2008 BE Excellence Awards, presented by Bentley Systems. ESI’s entry in the “Sustaining the Environment” category focuses on the 3D model of their Evergreen Community Power Project in Reading, Pennsylvania. Projects entered in this category must improve the sustainability of the Earth by optimizing the use of natural resources, while reducing or mitigating the detrimental effects of human activity on the global environment.

The ECP Project, owned by Phoenix Technology Holdings, involved ESI designing and engineering a 300,000 pph circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler system and 33 MW steam turbine facility. The facility will use biomass, such as tree trimmings, paper mill fiber and other biomass derived waste material to produce electricity. The power produced will be sold as “green” energy to offset power currently produced by fossil fuels. The system uses the leading edge in pollution control equipment to insure that all emissions are the lowest achievable for a facility of this size.

The finalists and winners will be announced May 29, 2008, during the BE Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. For more information about ESI Inc. of Tennessee, call (770)427-6200 or visit our website at www.esitenn.com. To learn more about the 2008 BE Excellence Awards, visit www.be.org.

ESI supplied a 72,000 pph boiler and deaerator to heat demineralized water used in this 24 hour acid cleaning process. ESI’s rental team was available throughout the duration of the project, providing on site supervision for start-up and during boiler operation.
